The 28.4 amps may come from an average that includes lots of tape up time and unwrapping time where there is no current at all. That will make the amp number look very low.

I'm wonder if I can cut those parts off using the eagle tree software?

That would be helpfull. With the dpr I really need to plug in drop in the water and then kill it all @ once to get the right numbers...Thats just never going to happen.

So how many poles is an feigao? What in an esc description tells if it will work with how many poles? I know your gonna say buy quality stuff and dont worry but I have an esc and just for tuning am wondering. It worked pretty well with fiegao. Not as well as a CC. little cogging on low rpm

            Fiegao motors have 2 poles.

I ran the KB45 10XL (1200kv) today for the first time. I started with a M440 prop on 24 cells and it was drawing 82 amps peak. I then tried a M640 prop and it used 94 amps peak. A little surprising that it used this high of a current with these small props. No speeds yet. It looks faster than the Feigao 14XL (1196kv), but it is also using more amps. This it ok, since it is a higher wattage motor, so I guess this means the KB45 produces more torque, but is less effecient than the Feigao. Hmmmmm.........

I was supised @ the amps also. I thought the bigger motor would yeild lower numbers...I agree with the Hmmmm here...lol

Ok found the culprit. The strut was only 1/16 inch above the bottom of the hull. Raising it should lower my amps and get more speed.

34" M1 Supercat. I had the Feigao 14XL (1196kv) in it before the KB45 10XL (1200kv) for comparisons. The 14Xl was using about 65 amps with the M640 prop at 40mph with the strut 3/16-1/4 higher than the bottom of the hull. Maybe I can get a better comparison next time out.

I just used these numbers in Fecalc to figure the amps on the KB45 motors. It should get you in the ball park. My test was using 94 amps peak on the 10XL first time out and fecalc estimated 80 amps of load, 28400 rpm, 50 mph, using the X640 prop on 24 cells. The boat is not dialed in. I hope to bring the amps down a little bit.

Let us know how yours come out.

The boys and I took out the Mean Machine first (yellow) and then the M1 Supercat (blue) today. I wish the video and the boat was tuned better (third run on supercat), but this is a quick comparison of a 14XL Fiegao and a 10XL KB45, both 1200 kv motors on 24 cells. The Mean Machine sprung a water leak inside the boat somewhere and it cut the run real short.
