Heres some pics of a New Ferry2 that I converted to a rescue boat. Didn't work too good with the 'net' catcher, so made a better removeable catcher bar for it. Here's a video of the lighting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfhc7MFqHBk:

I have added a video of my rescue boat in action to my original post #14.

I may as well link it here too.

                  DaTurtle Modification

I decided to add a ‘Pooper Scooper’ to enhance the retrieval capabilities of my rescue vessel - - DaTurtle. Constructed of PVC & Pool Noodle, it’s maw measures 14 inches square, & attaches in about a minute with two ¼” nylon bolts. It now should be able to handle any wayward watermelons that get loose in the lake.

The problem I have with my boogie board retriever is that the curved front just rides up over the boat I'm trying to retrieve. I'm gonna have to add some pvc/foam at the front I guess.

I have re-done my rescue craft again with an outboard. Works a ton better. I beleive this is version 4.0!

I use a traxxas blast with an eyescrew screwed in the back to carry out a fishing line. The traxxas has a steerable drive system, so it turns really well slow. Nothin' fancy but works well...

Thanks for great and informative post, but I don't have one yet, so here go my only choice:

My RR2 sank and I had to dive in to retrieve it. Later it sank again but it was 40 degree! I had to let it go.
6 months later, I lost a hatch of my other Cat because of the somersault and I decided to dive in...and I found my BL RR2 too.
I took it home and cleaned it up with plenty of Corrosion X and let it fan dried overnight. The motor, the RX and the esc are still working! I only had to replaced the rudder servo.
I coated those with water proof 3M epoxy DP-270 of course.
I forgot to mention that the pond froze with ice surface covered for several weeks after it sank.
Any idea of rescue boat for the sank ones...
