Funny rc boat related email I recieved...

"Is there any way to block a frequency on these rc boats? My butt-hole neighbor runs three of them every day for sometimes up to six hours at a time. They are extremely loud, can be heard from several blocks away. I can't use the telephone, my baby can't nap and my husband works nights and can't sleep during the day. Do I have any options, as my neighbor told me to drop dead. We live on the ocean and it's not peaceful anymore. The police have declined to assist because we live near an airport."

    My response.
    No there isnt.
Find out the local noise ordinances. Most places have them. I vacation on a lake and the boats can not be over a certain DB rating. Or buy one an electric one that’s faster than his gas ones and he may convert. lol

this might be an option http://www.nuisancelaw.com/ nuisance laws tend to be more flexible about what is a nuisance.
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in

Yeah, thats pretty good. Im lucky to get 20 min on a boat without working on it for at least an hour

Its guys like that that are creating the problems with places to run, I find the amont of time she says he runs hard to grasp but it seems it would be in his and the hobbies best interest to come to a workable agreement with his neighbors. Here we have nearly lost any place to run, not only noise makers but electrics as well due to complaints from people who don't like what we do.

It's awful many town's etc have noise ordinances. How are people supposed to do anything fun like we do. But drug dealers can freely operate their business and shoot people and get away with it. I just don't know sometimes.

thats because a gun shot only sounds for a millisecond but a nitro boat screams for about 20-30 min. Not that I support drug dealers but it is alot easier to triangulate an area where a sound is coming from to go stop it with a boat than with a gun shot IMHO

Well, if they lived in a free state, they could get a suppressor! Then you can shoot quietly! Moving targets can be fun also. Of course, you have to know your backstop. Something like, oh, an ocean would work nicely! A suppressed .22lr or 9mm machine gun would work wonders! <Sarcasm!>

Now I am torn. I have all of the items above. Gas boats, machine gun, sub gun, and suppressors. No ocean

That does suck. I love running boats, but that much noise for that long would be tough to deal with. Especially with his attitude. Oh well, I will crawl back under my rock now....

Ya no I have RC boating running through my veins. But.......i also had one of those loud boats and it drew way to much negitive attention. But i was respectful of people and guys fishing. I switched over to electric and no one was the wiser and its great. Now i go to my lake and theres a guy running a 40" boat with a Zenoah motor that sounds like a chain saw. Everyone is complaining and saying there trying to get a ban against boaters. I dont even want this guy around because he is ruining it for everyone else.

I had a short problem running my boat at Ward lake in olympia during the summer last year. this cow said i couldnt use her lake, i told her its a public lake and no one was on it, plus the police gave me the all clear..............

so she gets her daughter to get on an inner tube and on the lake and then tells me to stop, so naturally i do, i call the police, they come and she gets a warning but i still have to leave, sad stuff. Its times like these i wish i was a bad person.

were i live we had a on and off road rc track built, combined effort of the council and club money, from memory the club put in over 30 grand
it lasted 12 months and was shut down due to noise complaints.
the complaint came from one woman, this women could not even hear the cars at her place she just didnt want us there.
council did a sound test and we were shut down, 2 years later we find out that the noise was below they excepted levels.

Normally people complain because of jealousy. Plain and simple. This is why their complaints are always overly exaggerated.

Guys, I am soooo sorry... as these are my neighbors...

I promise not to involve you any more.

I'm just going to back the drag boat out of the garage and light it up...

                          Their hearing shouldn't return...

                              No, not seriously LOL...

I have done that to a neighbor complaining about noise though. For some reason they stopped complaining after that.

And before you ask, yes the cops showed up, but by that time the boat was back in the garage and I acted like I didn't know what they were talking about. I then popped a cold one and LMAO...
