Why would I want to go with a 4S vs. 5S lipo? Is it a fear of burning up the motor/ESC or more of just a user control issue?
If its the 32" hull until you know what that hull will do I would do 4s, It will keep the RPM lower, pull less current, keeping your ESC, motor cooler. 4s Hydra 120 and an Octura X442 would give 40mph give or take depending on how good the hull is.

If its the 52 inch hull now thats whole new game.

From the posts, it appears this is not a good deal. What about the hull alone, seems narrow for a 52 incher but would it be doable with twins if you could get just the hull for say 150?

$150 for a 52" hull? You can't even get their stage 5 motor for that much!

In all seriousness (if that's a word) they look like decent hulls.

SIMONEN, let me know if you need any info as I have this 32" hull DIALED...

Good luck. You will love the hull... hardware, if its anything like mine will be less desired. Im curious to see if they changed the stuffing tube. (if its the black flexible tube with the spiral inner metal lining. Shaft goes into a 4mm) If not, plan on doing that before you even run it.
I'm interested in buying the 32" cat http://www.fuyuanrc.com/en/detail.asp?id=15882 or http://www.fuyuanrc.com/en/detail.asp?id=15881, I really like the look of these boats. So what hardware do you recommend, do you recommend the 8xl over the stock?

Diesel, I put the Aquacraft Miss Vegas strut on mine. I had to cut the top of the strut off to get it to go up high enough for propper adjustment. Using this strut also allowed me to get a .150 flex on a 3/16 shaft, rather than the 4mm that came on in the boat. It kinda seems each "distributor" sells them a bit different, or the supplier changes thing for their best price options. Mine came with a 2045KV motor, but not the 2045 that fuyuanrc shows in theirs. However it does seem to be the same ESC.

That being said, I could not get it as fast as my BJ26 on thier esc/ motor combo. I tried it on 4S and things went real hot. I dont recal temps but it was borderline overheating. Thats when I decided if I wanted it as fast as the BJ Id just put the BJ electronics in it. I guess being a bit larger and heavier, I still didnt quite get what I wanted, so that put it where it is now on 4S w/ an 8XL. Its a mid 40s boat now and perfect. I did run it today on 5S. I dont have a logger so Im not sure what I was pulling for amperage, but a 45 second run showed motor as the warmest component at 122F and GPS was at 54.8mph.

                Hope that helps

Now I feel like we got swindled. G-freak told us that the delay on my boat is because they are sending it off to the painters. It is the same exact boat in your link and it is less money and comes with everything, not that I wouldn't have switched things out for better components anyways, but still.

I am sure they are buying it like that, no 3rd party painters, removing components and marking up the price.

We used paypal so they do have the money, but they keep giving excuses for the delay. Chinese New year was the last one. I think I am going to ask for my money back, otherwise I will open up a paypal dispute for not receiving the product as guaranteed. It has been 12 days since the order was placed.

They have nothing to do with painting them,. Search Vantex boats. Its who makes the hull and paints them (In China). You will find several suppliers with the same painted boats.

I live an hour from them (Gfreak). Im going to try and go over there next week and scope out the scams.

I would fight it and ask for a refund and send them the link above and ask about the so called paint job and why they mark up price in everything. Yea it was delayed for Chinese new year I do believe that part since they are just ordering probaby from the link above.

OK, I have to both defend them and toss in a negative comment. FIRSTY, its wrong to ever lie, clearly in this case they look like a horses butt by doing so. What a joke, "its at the painter".

Secondly I don't see anything wrong with what they are doing. Sure they are tossing in all kinds of fancy words and they don't seem to know much, BUT its up to us as consumers to make a valued choice on how we want to spend our hard earned money. Anyone that goes out and drops $500 without doing some research is just rich(doesn't care) or should be ashamed for doing so.
