There is a lot of venom bashing going on right now over in the ekos forums. I cant say I blame -em.But the ekos is by far one of the coolest most scale-looking hulls I have seen so far, and I cant wait to get my hands on the P-1!

Geez u guys are hard on venom lol either way my ekos runs great on 4s lipos. How long don't k ow but doesn't matter cause motors and esc is what I want anyways. So far I've done 4 full runs on 4s with no issues. I see people still going high kv on there motors so I don't think the kv rating is the issue. I think it's crimped cooling hoses causing over heating to be. Gona run this weekend again for the 5th time on 4s if she blows then no issues. If she runs then I guess it will never blow since third times a charm and I've already passed that. I'll still do cool down passes which shouldn't matter if the motors or esc would blow they'd do it from amps not heat so much.Comment

Half throttle runs. I noticed at the marina at full throttle water spurts out...maybe it's the speed maybe it's the wind but at half throttle I can see a stream of water instead of spurting. This may matter this may not but I do notice my motors are WAY cooler this way than with wot on a whole battery pack. All it a hinch call it following the gas boat guys. It works for me. And on 4s with all the hype of blowing things I'll take it easy. Ohh my esc never even get warm, motors do and batteries do which is normal.Comment

Odd, with most electric boats it is the opposite. If you had better cooling intake, you would not need to do this and with many electrics 1/2 throttle is a death sentance.Nortavlag Bulc

I agree. That is also why with electrics you MUST set your throttle channel Travel/EPA at 100%. Reduced throttle input places strain on the ESC and that causes heat. Reduced speed will ensure cleaner cooling water flow through the system, but the heat generated by the ESC is the issue...Comment
