Im sure its been asked a million times, but what is the upper RPM limit a Neu/Fiegao motor will take. Lets say a 540, 60ish mm length can with a 442 prop on it.
Sorry, but I gotta ask it...

i think the upper rpm limits given for the bearings would only be used in a reduction gear systemComment

Yea, I know they have an RPM limit on the bearings, but that doesnt necessarily mean the windings or internals will stay together at that RPM, would they? The RTR Nightmare- Electric King of Shaves
Now with 540s- 62mph
New setup- Etti 150A's, Turnigy 2600s, 5S, X442s and a whole lot of cooling hosesComment

The windings don't move so they fail by excess heat or scraped lacquer. Some magnets are cracked or not properly glued and will come apart long before 50,000 rpm. I have wound-out Fiegaos into the mid-45,000 rpm range under load, but I have seen others spit magnets at far fewer rpm. Because build quality varies, there is no real answer.

I have had my feigao 12l at a little over 51000 rpm. I would not recommend it. I currently run my 380 8l on 3s so it's spinning above 43000rpm.If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!Comment

I have done a few or more passes, on different days, with a 540-7S on 3S to a 432 for a good mid 40krpm. I do not reccomend it if you want to use the motor next week.
It did work for me to pull over 100kmph (Police radar) with my smaller 26"riggerSee it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with woodComment

I think the trick was that he geared the motor so highly that it never reached that. Although mathematically it should go over 100k he used a 3 speed gearbox to keep the revs down. Not too sure if he succeeded as I haven't seen him use the motor againComment
