Because I was the guy on RR that smoked my Cuda 125.....and a lot worse than that. I contacted castle and was told to send it in with a check for $75 to get a brand new controller. Great deal in my opinion! It did take a while to get it back though.Team Liquid DashComment

Iam still waiting for my 125, 7 weeks so far, the last time I talked to them they said since the cudas are discontinued, they make take awhile to start production on repair units.Comment

Has it been over 60 days since the date of purchase? A controller does not cost them $25 dollars to make.ReddyWatts fleet photo

Reddy I am not sure what you mean?
I had a bad 6XL that felt tight from the start. When I threw it in the water the motor seized and smoked the ESC...and I mean smoke. It melted all the solder on the controller and it looked like a brickette from the grill.Team Liquid DashComment

Raydee; if the motor felt tight right from the start, how long until you fried the controller ??
Mine felt fine but siezed the second time out.Grand River Marine Modellers

I think the bearings went on the XL causing an overload to the controller, but who reall knows. The motor turns over fairly roughly now.Grand River Marine Modellers

I think I'll leave it alone and maybe send it back to Steve for a look. I only got it last Monday, it was its first run.Grand River Marine Modellers

I think you'll find that the stator fried in the motor and it is now touching the rotor. If I was to venture a guess, it would be that the stator shorted and took out the ESC. I used to have pics of one I took down for bearing replacement, I'll try to dig them up and post them.
Sent ya a PM Doby.
