I could be wrong but I think Roger Newtons 1/8th runs in the 70s, someone else will have to chime in and correct me.

I am in holding mode untill tuesday evening. It's the Mrs's off week so boats don't get touched. I received my coupler from Steven(Thanks!!). The hull for the recovery craft was delivered along with the motor for the gt650 from tower. Next weekend I will be testing both boats.

I am waiting on a coupler and controller to arrive for the maiden launch. I had to order the straight coupler. Octura is not going to make a 6mm to .150 flex hex coupler. Not enough demand.

I have run the KB45 8xl motor 2 different times now and it has just gotten better. It has pushed my TC 31 up to 44 MPH and I am going to run some different props and see if I can get more out of it. I think I can. The motor runs cool so far, and has no vibration on the bench and in the water I cant tell anyway.

I am looking into a number of big hulls at the moment. I may for go the hydro and get a 45"+ Mono on 5 or 6s. A Hydra 240 will be a must.

Wickedgmc are you using NiMH batteries in your KB45 setup? Which prop did you run?

I am using a pair of Max amps 6000HV 2s2p 7.4 volt packs. I used a Y547 and a X646 and I just got my X646/3 from Fine Design and will run it Tuesday. I have put together 2 7 cell 3800's that I will try as well. I am also considering building some 9 cell packs to run as well.

My other thought is to buy a bigger lipo and try to reduce some of the weight, this boat is heavy.

Time will tell this boat may disappear soon as I am just waiting to for Steven to get a Jolly cat in and then thats the boat I will run. I will remove the KB 45 from this boat and put it in the Jolly and take the ESC and put it in my Supervee with a Feigio 8xl and use a Hydra 240 in the Jolly\

True, but it would be scary if I had a local hobby shop that carried all of this stuff. I would be eating beans and cornbread. lol!

It kinda keeps me in check since I have to order it and wait.

Yeahhhhhhhh but you gotta love just being able to run and grab everything right now!!!! We have a place like that about 45 mins south of me....Not to local but close.

Wish some more people had more of these motors. But they are new, and it looks pretty good so far.
