I am waiting on the flex HEX coupler, 6mm to .150. I dont see those listed yet. I thought he said he would have them in another week. Did you get the straight coupler with set screws?
sweet, I wanna see how these motors pan out. I have a HV setup ARR on the way, and I figured if I did'nt like the aveox motor, I could try one of these..
And I just wanted to see if it is really possible to power a larger boat with a 75$ motor and get good speeds. Keep us posted.

Thats what I am using. The straight coupler from toysport has 3 set screws. The 6mm to .78 wire Steven attemped to drill out had 4 screws. He made one that had worked out good. The bore was slightly off on mine. Had I been using a flex cable I could have prolly got away with it. But the hub @ the end of my stuffing tube was vibrating enough to make me think twice about turnng up the motor. My new one is in the mail now.
Hey I gota ask...Was it a bitch to install that water jacket? I was cussin up a stom last night. The tolorence between them it tight!! But it's not impossible of course.
I used some vaseline and it went on ok, when I twisted it. I used this on a 540 waterjacket and it has not leaked a drop. I hope this one is the same. Thats probably why they send the extra o rings, cause it can be a beeeotch.
I used silicon shock oil. Prolly should have used somthing heaver. I dinged it ouside edge tapping it with a rubber handled screw driver :-S. I got pissed and grabbed the monster channel locks and gingerly pressed it on.
KB45-11XL 1000kv on a X447 prop 8s1p 5000ma TP Ex lipo. The boat is 13.5 Lbs. I think it pushed this hull about 50 mph with this setup.
It seems to be a good motor and is a good bang for the buck.
Sounds like Steven may have hit another home run for the hobbiest operating on a tight budget.
He must be running it in a 42", 1/8 scale hull, since it weighs 13.5 lbs on lipos. I am thinking this may be my next project. A 1/8 Miss Budweiser using a simular setup.
