Throw a rag over it and the issue became a non-issue.

Newer generations of FASST receivers have been shown to be far less temperature sensitive. But again, to me letting your radio gear get to temps of 150 degrees was not a good idea in the first place.
I know Bill, don't make me hug ya

Both times I had the issue were in my FE boats that had been under the canopy. Go figure??? One RX has been trouble free in my LSG Mono.

Andy how about making the DX3R compatible with the MR3000?

I personally watched a guy at the local hobby shop GIVE AWAY his P spec sport hydro because he could not use the MR3000 with his DX3R, His comment was " I was gonna race boats next season but since I have to buy a whole NEW @$@^& RADIO to use a marine receiver forget it" and hand the boat to guy saying "Merry Christmas" and stormed out of the hobby shop!

If it is going into failsafe sitting under your canopy in the shade then I think it is clearly defective. You should return it to Hobbico telling that it loses link sitting in the shade.

140 to 150 degrees was pretty proven to be the shut down temp, so unless you were doing BBQ on the radio lid in the shade it needs to be serviced!!

Sorry boys, I'm gonna have to shed the truth about radios on you gents:

Airtonics is now the world's leading radio manufactuer. We have the least expensive high and low end systems on the market as well with the highest quality.

Our response latency is twice that of the next leading radio mfgrs including Futaba
and Spektrum. Futaba and spektrum are both magnificent radios and I've raced for both companies, but life changed when I got plugged in with Airtonics.

The response is so fast that my race mgr had to warn me. today I drove my rc truck 3 city blocks away from me to the point where with 20/10 vision I couldn't see it anymore.

Anyone who truly knows radios and range know that a noticable latency delay occurs when a model is far away from you NOT with airtronics fhss-3 system.
This radio is truly amazing, and there are MANY testimonials

We just came out with an even faster system with digital servos to match that are far superior to ANY radio mfg out there

Top drivers of all aspects of RC use airtronics

To those who keep talking about speed of their systems. I almost 40 years old, and losing a step or two but I've never noticed any speed problems with any radio I have ever used. Sure on an oscilloscope you can probably find a difference, but come on.

Steve, faster latency is ESPECIALLY key in your case.
If you're reacting slow, you don't need a radio that's doing it as well LoL

Fast response has helped me in SO many situations that acted as a crutch as far as avoiding wrecks, catching blowovers etc.

Trust me Steve, after trying it you'll agree that there's nothing not to like about a responsive radio. The only getting used to it takes is getting used to a better driving experience

I totally see your point at the same time.
I used to say computerized radios are for computer wizzes, bookworms, and geeks, but after trying it out, I realized a better responding model is a funner model to play with even when for sport "shoeing" away birds, chasing dogs etc.

i dont think there is a human alive that could physically tell the difference in speed.
you hear people all the time on hifi equipment picking flaws in brands they dont use,but these flaws are only picked up with electronic equipment never by human ear

                              Thanks Bill O.
I just threw all of my radio gear in the garbage and have ordered Airtronics!!!!

                              Bill M.
I thought about that but figured since it's only happened twice the chances of it happening to a Futaba tech were slim to none. I suspect at some point they will "go red" and not come back like some others I've seen, and at that point I'll drive on.

You guys have a great Friday!!!

I said rc car lol but there are sport situations where you have a huge lake and a stable boat

Also, with super high speed runs, you'd be suprised how much run up and afterplane you need for a pass

That range is also a testimony of how well it will work up close
