I am at a slight advantage because I am running a Neu 1515 1Y (2200kv) and the white hull is running a Medusa 3670 (2300kv). The advantage comes from the fact that the Neu is more efficient and will run a much larger prop with less heat. We are both running the same Hyperion 2s5500mah cells in series for 4s but I was running a Octura 1445 2 blade and the white hull was running my CDMI 3856 or 3868 (something like that). The three bladers are always smoother but my hull usually runs so wet it was nice to see a change in the hull with the 1445.

Yeah we ran them on 2p for a while but the G3 cells handle 1p great. I am getting 2 min runtime with the hot setup and more if I prop down. The cells come out of the water between 120*-130*.Team Liquid DashComment

Scott I ran three packs through the Whiplash with the 1614/3 prop and overall the prop was pretty good. Speed was down compared to the 1445 prop I was running but it was much more stable with the ABC prop. Temps were also very low with this prop and gave me great run time. Overall this would problably be a fantastic race prop and when 3 or more boats are in the water it will be the prop I choose for sure. I might even look into the next size up, thanks for the heads up.Team Liquid DashComment

Ray,
Thanks for the feedback. It makes for a very smooth boat, which is good at my lake because it's normally choppy.
Have you also tried an M445? Heath (Cliffiematthews) used to run one on his Whip, and it was very fast. I'm yet to try one as I'm happy with mine as a race set-up.Comment

Yes I have run the 445, 645, 646 cut down and a slew of other props. THe 445 and 645 are fast but seem to draw more amps than my 1445. The downfall of the 1445 is that it is a bit unstable but it is very fast. On choppy days I def will be running the 1614/3, one thing that I really liked about it was the punch out of the corners.Team Liquid DashComment

That's all I am runnning in my Whiplash is 4s1p. I am gonna say MOST of my club members are no longer running 2p set ups, the boats handle better with less weight, plus its easier to put the weight were you want it, the only boats that I know of in the club that are still running 2p is our N2 sport class, and thats just for weight.
I have ran my Whiplash on 4s2p 10,000mah Poly Rc's 452 prop the boat was a pig in the corners, flopping around like a fish on land.Comment

I have run the whip on a 4s 5300 mah 8xl fiegao setup, m445 is a good prop, x642 detoungued. The cupped and pitched x440/3 gives a good runtime and ok speed for the 'p restricted' class we run. For sport I have run a kb45 8xl with 6s1p the m445 and a ABC H5 are props ive tried, as i havent run it a heck of a lot - it was very quick with the h5 , but i had no gps in so i wont guess a speed mm445 it did turn better, but this is probably the 1 degree of negative on the strut to compensate for lack of lift from the m445.
will be good to try some big props on the 6s for sawComment

I tested a set of Neu Energy 7.4v 30c 5000mah in 4s in my Whiplash same set up as above with a 447 prop. I did it to as a torture test on the packs to see how hot they would get and to destroy them, 11 laps on an 1/8 mile course, to my surprise nothing burned, puffed or got hot packs at 115 motor at 125 esc 125. Pulled 4000+ mah out of the packs. Packs still run good!
Oh yeah, my dad was pissed at me, they were his packs I was trying to destroy.......Comment

lol... i find other peoples lipos have a slightly higher C rating :P
8xl can push the whip to about 90k + we have a price limit on the motor that is allowed in that class.Comment
