I run FM for all of my FE hulls.
I use 2.4 for one of my tow boats and AM for my rock crawler.

I get away with all of these as I am a sole user at my pond. I clear up before the sail guys arrive and for crawling it is my garden only.

The 2.4 in my main tow (rescue) boat is there as I may use the 3rd and 4th channel soon.

Given the price of 2.4G gear for you guys in the US, I would suggest that you go with a 2.4G system.

FM is good especially the Dual Conversion, but 2.4G is better.
    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

The interesting point is that many are switching to 2.4ghz and the FM bands are not subject now to the same cross interference as in the old days. I still use FM on 7 boats, and yes I have a 2.4ghz system

Go to 2.4GHz and never tend to get back again.:
        No interference,
No freq. channel to worry about,
        No lose control(built-in fail safe),
        No shaking servo.
        No visible antenna,
        No heavy/short life batteries
        ...........
        Only enjoyment.

          FM 75MHz vs. 2.4GHz

Airtronics has a new 2.4GHz setup Tx/Rx for $99 at Tower...
