Too big and cant turn as quick. also if it flips it has a chance to crash onto the many many rocks before it rights itself. ID hate to Screw up a nice hull like that. I ahve tons of RC bearings in hundreds of different sizes. They will be fully bearing supported soonan RC rock crawler lost in a sea of boat parts.........Comment

Rockwerks,
Where can I find these NQD boats in WA? I am headed south across the border for the day, into Bellingham. Would like to pick a couple up if they are available locally. Thanks
Well the 2 high dollar boats showed up today. But with a major downpour happening probably wont get em wet till tomorrow
abs hull of decent thickness nice driver and motor detail. uses 2 body posts to mount the hatch into a groove that empties to the rear of the boat
the intake is going to need a little work
the hull is totally sealed, Im gonna have to fix that!HPR115 x2 ,Dark Horse Shovel, Delta Force CyberStorm, Delta Force Sniper 23-RTR:Comment

Rockwerk,
BTW how thick do you figure the hull is? Do you think it needs reinforcing?? There is vids of one launching off logs or something like that over at RCU.HPR115 x2 ,Dark Horse Shovel, Delta Force CyberStorm, Delta Force Sniper 23-RTR:Comment

Its fairly thick and and flexible. it should hold up fairly well. I dont think Im going to reinforce it just yet but I am looking for a cheap esc motor combo to fit in already.an RC rock crawler lost in a sea of boat parts.........Comment

Funily enough, I own both, the OM for me is better mine has a flood chamber, when setup it rights in about 3-4 seconds, but i dont have to avoid rocks like you. Hope the jetboat works out for you.Comment

I saw your rig on RCU the BBY 26 nicely done. Im hoping to be able to get this little boat to surf the waves as they come in. MY wife is excited about these too.an RC rock crawler lost in a sea of boat parts.........Comment

rockwerks,
Have you looked at the Aquacraft UL1 motor/esc combo? I was also thinking about the Scorpion Outrunner series. Might be a little more than a cheap setup. But they are reasonably priced.

These boats are small. 17" in length and light! they use a 380 size motor with 2.3mm shaft. Im actually looking at a 3700KV 180L and already have a few small esc's lying around.an RC rock crawler lost in a sea of boat parts.........Comment

with the jetboat instead of making a coupler, make a new slightly longer shaft, and get an outrunner that uses a 2.3mm shaft, extend the driveshaft through the outrunner, no need for a coupler then or any alignment issues.
other thing I found when building my jetboat is the impeller will slip on the driveshaft very easily, i simply drilled a hole in the impellor and tapped a 3mm thread into it and ground a small flat on the shaft and loctited it.
with my setup I run a 3500kv outrunner from my trex450 heli, hyperion titan 30amp esc and 2200mah 20c 3s lipoComment

Okay, you guys are getting me thinking about jet boats and watching every youtube NQD video I can find...
RCU had a great jetboat thread started by Quicksilver a couple years back. He did a jet conversion to a Traxxas Villain that was really inspiring. One innovation he did that I thought was brilliant was a thick strip of aluminum(?) along the keel both to support his own intake, and allow him to bash it like a fricken Rock-Crawler over rocks, docks, logs or whatever. He had vids of it launching off of a half sunken dock that were straight-up incredible...I'll see if i can find it.Comment

the thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6523863/tm.htm
you've likely seen it already...the boat in Quicksilver's avatar is the one I remember.
There are links to his vids and his original build in the first few posts. I learned a ton from his experiments and have always had plans to build a river basher of my own someday since following his threads.Comment
