Nate..I am building one as we speak. Will get pics in a week or so. The sponson design is a very fast design, basically the mods that people are doing to the whiplash sponsons, are in this hull. H&M gelcoat is fantastic, and the glass work is very clean. a light hull for sure. Mine has plenty of room for use as a 4s or 6s Easily.
I changed some things on mine, cut the rear exhaust off and glassed over etc...I like the look better, similar to the phil thomas 45 shape.

Feel free to ask any questions...I've been in contact with chris fine from fine design, and he gave me all of the critical measurements for this hull, as a 4s or 6s boat.

Im in the process now trying to figure out a motor mount design for Peter to build, So basically im just floating around site to site trying to figure out a good 5-6s 30" hull to build, I want a PTSS45 or Twin wing, but I have wanted to build a hull not everyone uses.

What have you decided on using as a motor mount and what setup are you using?

I noticed it will be nice and easy to mount the drive shaft and hardware. Can you get us some build picture's up today?

Im still going to try the Neu 1527 1y with a pretty good size prop, probably a 3-blade of some sort, Does anyone know how good this hull handles? Is it a fast 4s Race hydro.

I am using the ose blue aluminum mount, with fiberglass sides. There is a necessary point of positioning in this hull according to fine. The hull is a great 30" hull, that not too many people use, yes indeed.
the motor mounting area is nice and layed out and has a drop floor for this purpose, like most of the Finlay designs. I am using a 1515 1y, on 4s and my scorpion outrunner on 6s. to compare. The hull comes in gel coat white, and has a glassed in front cowl, section..similar to what people are doing to the pt ss21 and 45 hulls. Makes taping very easy. I have it with me at work, doing some pin hole filling after glassing in the rear exhaust section I cut out. I will see if I can get a pic of the inside layout. Center mounted strut, Rudder has to be 2 1/8th to the left of this and cog is 2" behind the sponsons. Coming from the german makers, via chris fine.

The H&M site says the hulls are white. Don't see anything about yellow. The one on the site also has a wing on it. The call it the Super Sport 21. I don't see just a Sport 21. Maybe they discontinued it? Dunno. Not enough people are making 28-30" hydro's! Most are little 24-26" hulls. I hate that! 28-30" is best for SPEC Hydro too. I would like to find a hull to put all my UL-1 stuff on and in but don't see anything out there I would want to buy. I'll check Chris' site for this one.

Im also with ya about the Hull sizes being made, Ill go with any hull from 28-38" but thats about it, I wouldn't even take the money or time and spend it trying to make a 47" Hull go 60-70 mph. Seems steep to me. Like Iv said before, I have always wanted a clean well built 30-35" 65mph Hydro to play around with, the hull option's have gone down though.

I still hold the NAMBA Q sport SAW record with that hull. 80mph on 18 NiMH's in '05. It's a nice running hull. It's a little picky about the turnfin you use. I don't know that it will make a good spec boat, but it runs great on a 1515/1Y.

Brian...I would love to hear what you did with your 2005 hull. Ie, battery placements etc.

Nate. You can fit a single 4s pack in front of the motor, or two 3s/4s packs, besides the motor and still get the cog right. Motor mount has to be about 14" roughly from transom, according to H&M.

There is a LOT of room for moving equipment around, very nice indeed.
The hull does NOT come with wings, it is only in the old pic that they have not upodated, that it had wings. It does however have a printed template in the manual that comes with the hull, in order to make your own twin wings.

I may stick with 4-5s on this Hull. Maybe 6s is alittle bit over-Kill might I ask?
Can you get the measurements of the width between the Hull floor and cowl lips around the outside's when you get a chance. I wonder what the speeds will look like on 5s. Have you thought about the turn fin yet as Brian say's the hull is Picky about this?

The height of the area you asked, is 1 and 7/8" at the highest point, near where my motor is mounted about 14" from transom. according to finedesign, 4s and 6s is perfectly acceptable with this hull. I have been using handmade turn fins, just will do some tweaking...might start with the miss vegas turn fin, small however it might work to start with. have not heard it was picky about turn fins, until now. I think weight wise, 6s might be just about right in my opinion.

Yeah But I doubt that two 6s packs are going to slide up under just a bit over an Inch of this hull.

Maybe two 5s 3500mah packs may work but will be crammed tight, I don't want to risk my lipo's lol. I could go with two 3s packs, maybe 5000mah pack will work who knows, Ill just have to get the Hull and figure somthing out. Thanks for all the added info here.
