ok ok....I'll take a look at that turn fin. I might even take it off for a run and see what it does.

My CG is now at 1-3/4" behind the sponsons WITH 6oz weight as positioned in the photo. Does that sound reasonbale? I used to have even MORE weight to move it up further. I think someone mentioned to shoot for 1" before, but there's no way I can get there without adding considerable weight.

The strut angle is somewhat exaggarated by the angle of the photo I think. It's probably around 1 deg. I used to run 0° and then started experiencing the "kite", so I aimed it down a bit.

I can't get these new batts any further forward or they start taxing the tape job. The new batts run like hell though with incredible punch out of the gate! And the M440 prop really hooks up quick..

I finally got around to tweaking this boat again. With a little strut work (higher, higher!) and less angle AND a straight turn fin, it pushed 48mph! I still can't believe the mph reading, so I ran it a few more times with the same setup, but was only able to hit 46mph. Fast enough for me! The strut work really helped with the stability as well. Rides smooth and straight.

I also tried adding weight to each sponson (outside edges) to see if it would be less apt to dance after passing through wakes. Nope. Seemed to make it worse. You would think that the weight on the outsides would reduce the roll response, but unfortunately it reduces the recovery response as well.

Time for another boat! (shhhh....wife doesn't know yet). I called Randy earlier and ordered one of his Zephyr 27 hulls. There is nothing behind the sponsons and they allow the air to escape. Should be interesting. Not sure what to power it with yet. Any suggestions?

Don't give up on the pickle yet... Bring that thing out to a couple club races! There is plenty of people that can offer help.

Our next club race is on the 13th. Also practice nights are on Mondays. I won't be there on the 7th, but I will be at the club race.
