    Doug,
send me a link where I can see the hull and it will be posted...
this list was made so people have something "palpable" to have in mind when looking for a hull,
I am sure there are a few more good riggers as well as not proven ones that have not been mentioned
but only because I have not seen a link or at least a photo and a contact number.
    No discrimination intended...

Hello all, Quick question, Building a Rigged Insanity, I am fabbing up the sponsons, After bonding I kept the bottom of the sponson flat or 90 degrees, It follows through to the tips, Now what I am concerned about is that other sponsons I have looked at taper at the ends. How critical is this area and will the ones I modified work? Only going in straight line so not to concerned about turning. Any suggestions? Or should I start over on these? This is my first Rigger build so its a test bed... Any feedback is greatly appreciated! and Happy New Year!!All!

Not sure if I understand what you mean by "taper at the ends".. .is it the leading edge or the trailing edge you are talking about?

The HOLC Rigger is not made anymore... there are a few floating around but the owners dont sell them often... I'd suggest starting a "WTB thread" to see if you can score one.

Hey Thanks UB, To best describe my sponson situation, If you take a square and place it on the inside and bottom of sponson (nearest to Tub) And slide it across from trailing edge to leading edge, Most are usually tapered and the leading edge, ( just slightly though) And mine in at a perfect 90 degrees from trailing to leading. Hope that makes it a little more clearer. Anyway just want to know if it will effect it in anyway. I am going to go with it for now and test it. If it handles funny I can easily replace them. But just wanted to ask and see if anyone else has fabbed them this way so I know what to expect. Thanks again for the info on the HOLC's. Until then...

I see... there are different ways to build sponsons... a bit tapered will give you slightly less lift... how many degrees do you have the "ramp" at? For SAW runs, the "pros" suggest up to 4.5 degrees (FYI), off course it'll depend on a few other things...

Thanks UB, Its set up per print on the instructions so not sure the angle on the ramp. I'm doing my home work and research, So many variables...Can't wait to do some field testing, just got motor, stuffing box and strut mounted, So far so good! Today will do the rudder and servo set up. What are you guys using to coat the wood? I see no need for epoxy coating as no nitro, and heavy, light polyurethane coat ok? waddya suggest? JK
