Using a Super Whatt Meter on a Boat?

Back when I flew electric R/C aircraft, we lived and died by the Astro Super Whatt meter.
Is this a feasible tool for checking amp draw in an R/C boat set-up? Can I get an accurate reading with the boat powered up and held static?

Not held static. There will be no load on the Motor.

I meant static in the water.

Could be done but this is a low Amp wattmeter, I believe it tops at 15A, barely usable. Maybe for a toy pool boat or for scale type boats.
I assume it holds the max value that you can read after the fact.

The loads in boating can swing wildly. It will be easy to burn up this device, plus the extra resistance in connectors.

Just an example, 1/8" in strut depth can be the difference between 95a and 225amps. So you want the least resistance possible.

If you want to check the amp draw etc then it would be best to purchase an esc with data logging.
