I'm sure you can charge a bit more yet stay reasonable in terms of additional costs for your time and labor.
Everyone does it ... OSE does it... google and yahoo do it... etc.
All of them mark up their inventory/product at least 20-30% flat and they are just brokers, not manufacturers (like you).
Houston, we have a problem. A BIG problem. So I pulled data logs. It was pulling 380-420 amps. Wtf? So I looked at rpm loaded. 40k. Huh? 1580kv x 22.2v equals 35,076. Yea it's never on the money. Sometimes not even close but a full 10k rpm more than a 1770kv motor? No. Pull the motor and check it with my kv checker.
Sooooo.....how the heck that happened? There's no 1580kv 1530 listed on neus website. There is on ose tho.
And the box and motor match.
So then I look at the neu website. Sob!!!! A 1D is 2300kv and this is a .75D

I don't trust my HK kv meter. I am getting readings that are hundreds off. Has yours been reliable and consistent? I am getting pretty reliable readings by the old fashioned "drill press" method. Anybody else use that?
kfxguy: So... what does this mean? Did it get switched up for a completely different wind by the manufacturer?
That seems like a lot of amp draw for that rpm range though... unless its really overpropped for that range.
I wonder how much amps that thing would pull for 50k+ rpm...
For some reason I have to throttle learn my kv meter before every use. But it's been dead on since I've figured that out. I've checked LOTS of motors and it's very accurate.
In the ose store the kv listed is wrong. The box and motor are marked correctly however, neither list a numerical kv. Just the wind. I don't know winds by heart so I had no idea what it was. I put an email into Steve to see what needs to be done. We can't use this motor and I directed my customer to buy this for his build. Good thing I got it and tried it and pulled data logs on it. Had I not, he would have smoked his Esc in short order.

But if it really was 2700kv ... wouldn't it be pushing around 60k rpm?
Yea maybe not loaded it would have been. The prop I had was quite aggressive. It did see a max of 61k at one point. Most loaded points were 40k-ish. The boat never really stopped accelerating before I let off. So it would be even more had I stayed in it.
