    Castle 2028 Extreme

Anyone use the new 2028 yet? I have one that should be delivered today!

Revised stator and magnet shapes provide lower cogging torque for improved starting performance.
The new 800Kv rating will make the setup faster.
Rated at a higher RPM (45,000) due to improved manufacturing processes.
    Capable of operating on 12S

Nice, I would love to try one if I had an excuse, but my original 2028 just keeps ticking and I don't think it has any plans on giving up. VERY solid motor IME, has to be one of the best bangs for the buck, hopefully the new one will be the same, I would imagine it will be.

I always wanted to try one of these but was turned off by the 30k rpm rating. Now....I'm in for the next big hull i get.

All you would have had to do was replace the bearings. I cannot confirm but supposedly the factory bearings are skateboard bearings. Hey, you have to compromise on cost somewhere, and the motor's target consumers don't need more that 30,000 rpm. Better bearings would probably increase the max rpm by at least 5000, maybe more. But the new motor 'sounds' better.

Got motor and it does turn easier, not as much cogging. It's going in a new build over winter. Gonna try a new hull from CC Racing.

First time hearing of this hull. The top reminds me of the Expresscraft Thunderbolt. Looking forward to your build thread. Single CC2028 powered right? Otherwise a twin setup using those motors is a lot of power for a 47" hull.

I am doing twins in a 51....I say do it twins....but that's me. Gotta remember the gas cats aren't like a hpr or mhz. They are wider, taller and heavier. I'm really wishing I would have gotten these new 2028 now

It's only been out a couple months. Yes, it will be single powered.

The 2028 won't have an issue pushing these in the mid 60's. I currently have an R42 converted to electric that I raced a couple times this year and speed wise it's running right with the gas, it also has a 2028. Weight isn't a bad thing, it always seems to be windy here and the weight gives a big advantage.

Hmm....makes me wonder what my 51 crc victory will really do then.

Interesting. Anybody seen the bottom on these? Worthy of another thread.

I have, it's got a slot down the center of each sponson. I should have one in a couple weeks and I'll start a build thread.

That hull was supposed to be out almost two years ago. Hope it lives up to the hype....
