This is closer to the Castle 1520 you speak of
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...p-4060&cat=181
    40x92mm

I used to run one in my P-SPec Mono...
very competitive but then changed to a XXX and no one in my club can catch me now
I've come to appreciate better built motors during the racing seasons

I've been looking at the TP motors and I like what I see so far. However, UPS dropped off this Spartan hull today and I now understand why they are not speed-friendly. This thing needs some carbon spars/stringers, a couple of layers of fiberglass cloth, or expanding spray foam, or something. It's only a thin, hollow shell of two pieces of plastic glued together. I planned on reinforcing it but I thought it might be a little stronger out of the box. I'm sure finding out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Traxxas Spartan is inevitable.

not if using the right props on them
I ran a TP 4092 in my P-Mono and it pulled less amps than the Leopard motor that was in it
any motor will be a super amp drawing motor if propped up to much

I have a pair of (keeping mind the lack of measureable industry-standard discharge rate) Tinity Titanium 3s packs at 90C burst, 50C continuous, 5,000mAh. I think I have the batteries for the job. I don't typically see batteries with more than 40C discharge being used but I guess that's because its unnecessary...?

usually the higher the C rating you can afford the better when it comes to FE
we pull lots of amps with our boats..
              way more than cars do

lots of us use 65C packs these days for racing
