IME the 1521-size motors are a bit small for 6S oval racing. They may be great for SAW or 2-lap events, but long heats in rough water put more strain on the motor, and the larger format motors have more mass to handle the heat (and more torque for bigger props). A Q-sized boat has plenty of room for the slightly longer 1527. I understand the advantage of lower motor weight hanging off the transom of an OPC.

Thanks Mike. I think I'll go with something between 6000 and 8000Mah.

You may be right but, we will never know unless you show

The 2280-5 is also approx. $650 Dollars US. For that much it better do laps around a 1527 1Y.

I can almost build a Q-Sport for that much in total and still have fun.

Well Howard you can take your german crap and stick it where the sun don't shine, (nothin personal Howard you know I love you!!!!!) but I'll buy American!!!! Oh and when 4 of your $600 german motors blow up for NO reason and you send them back, and 9 MONTHS LATER you recieve an empty box except your 12 female connectors and 2 water jackets and a note that says "sorry user error" (yes this actually happened to me) You will appreciate the service and Quality of AMERICAN MADE!!! I would never put a Lehner motor in anything I own even if they gave them to me for free!!!!

We have not actually scheduled our annual Spring race yet.
                        Just looked at the calendar.
Most likely it will be either May 3 & 4 or May 17 & 18
as Mothers Day is Sunday the 11th.
Have any preferences or conflicts with either weekend ?
Actually there is a district race on the 17th and 18th in Tampa
as I just checked the NAMBA District 3 race calandar.
I would hate to loose any possible tunnel racers so
I will propose the Weekend of May 3rd & 4th to the club
                        next Sunday.

Howard......would that work for you too ?
I think you would enjoy our pond site.

Ken, The World Tunnel Champs in Charleston will likely be May 1st-4th. I would go to your race on the 18th rather than Tampa but won't miss Charleston. Well have our nitro stuff broken by then anyway
