I'd bet the house that these are the original manufacturers of the Castle motors and they finally put their own brand(color) out......
All anyone in China has to do is to buy someone else's product and copy it - motor, battery, ice chest, muffler, etc. That is what Feigao and Leopard did with Hacker and Neu motor designs. They did not have to be an "original manufacturer" of anything. "The boxes they come in even look the same"?? Give me a break.

So stick with leopards then? Maybe swap out the bearings out on the tacon for some higher quality ones? And if i
was to run castles or purple nurples is the only way to cool them a water cooled motor mount... or is there a jacket that goes over the fins?Comment

Ok, break granted since I now you havent seen the boxes I found on a small Euopean Forum, and others noticed the same similarities in dimension, graphics and print. I have also conversed directly with Keith who sells them and has the product and I'm sure you have not, and I'm all over what's going on in my hunch. Your Mr know it all attitude is growing tiresome to most folks on this forum. Do me a favor and try not to comment on my posts, that way I wont be forced to make you look even more like a J$&#^#*.Comment

If I go faster than 99% of the people on this forum with these motors, I don't think it really matters who you think made what. If they are good motors they will work well, that's all. I'm not going to get into who that makes what stuff, it's not worth the battle and I would rather not be involved. If you think they're different, you should consider the possiblity that they are BETTER, since we are constantly learning more and more about what works and what doesn't.Comment

So how about we get the thread back to talking about other castle "knock offs" leopard and tacon. Let's make it simple is the tacon motor worth a f@$& compared to a leopard for half the price?
Jamie says his ran hotter than his leopard...just hotter or TOO hot?
Rockstar says his run just fine...
Dana says his blew apart after 5 runs...
This what I was looking for info comparing these 2 motors not a cat fight about who is ripping off castle.
Sorry to rant...Comment

To be fair, I didn't push the Tacon real hard. I ran a conservative setup, however the motor temps were always slightly warm to the touch at best. There also seams to be a difference between the green and orange motors, as Dana and Keith stated."There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike FioreComment

Just get the leopards and be done with it. Were u thinking 3674 or 4074's. 2200 kv right. Wonder if the 120 amp speedos will be sufficient . There are also the hk 4074 2000kv motors. Mine has been running well. I'm thinking a set of x447's counter rotating (pretty sure it is made in right hand) should put you in the 55+ mph range.Comment

And I don't see anyone ripping anyone off with these motors...
Could be fun to put a purple 1717 next to my green 1717.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment

I just got back from running a pair of 1512s at the lake. They have plenty of power. I was running extremely wet and still GPSed 65mph on a mild setup.Comment
