Bad a$$ motor?

Was wondering if any body has run tacon brushless motors? Read the specs and they seam just as good as leopards. In fact almost like they are the same motors with a different name. Anyway was thinking of picking a couple up for a 32" twin cat I am building. Half the price of leopards. Could be sweet if a good quality motor.

The tacons with the orange can seem better than the green. I had tacon 3674 1900 kv that lasted 5 runs till the armature blew apart. No these motors aren't as good as leopards. You get what you pay for bud. Specs don't mean much when the quality of bearings and materials are inferior. If you do buy, get the orange ones tho

I tore a leopard and tacon down side by side.

Made in the same factory for sure.

Same motor exactly? I doubt it. Theres a reason they are cheaper. There is no free lunch, even in a chinese factory...

The green Tacons are 2 pole motors and similar to a Feigao in my opinion. The orange are 4 pole and more of a Leopard copy.

My Tacon ran very hot compared to my Leopard ... its still on the shelf.

I think the leopards are good for their price though. I cant wait to get these TP Power motors in the water. Cost relatively the same as the Leopards too...

They already are stateside sir.
Prices are pretty comparable to Leopard.

C'mon now......................I looked at these Sirius 4 pole Brushless motors and they look exactly like purple Castle's.

They even have the exact same numbering and kv................1515 2200kv, 1512 1800kv, 1717 1580kv..................this is the epitimy of rebranding..................its the same freakin motor. No amount of OEM crap will convince me...........They are purple Castles.

I think my prices are a little cheaper than those guys after you convert pounds to dollars...not to mention, I'm in the US.

I have 2 of the 1717's on the way from Keith for a Fantasm build....Will be putting them to the test!

I wasnt posting that link for folks to go and by them there Keith, I didnt know you sold them. I'd bet the house that these are the original manufacturers of the Castle motors and they finally put their own brand(color) out.............the boxes they come in even look the same, with the same type of print................

I assumed so, no worries. There's just a gray area for me with posting info about stuff on my site on Steve's forum so my response may have been a little awkward. Steve has always been good to me so I don't want to step on his toes.
