Just got my motor yesterday. It looks nice and looking at the pics of the leopard 4074 they look identical apart from where the wires exit the can.

I just ran the 1600(box says 1500) 4082 in the Spartan I built with a 200A "Birdie" ESC today and the boat ran flawless swinging a 48mm carbon prop powered by 2, 5000mah 20c zippy $16 packs, for 4s. The warmest thing were the batteries which were barely noticeably warm. ESC and motor were as if they were never ran. I wanted to run 6s but didn't get a chance too due to my recieved getting wet. I have a leak somewhere

      A+ stuff in my book!

I was looking at those birdie esc's but thought they looked a bit too cheap. I take it you would reccomend them then?

Definitely, but it did need a little work. More like preventive measures.

I took the heat shrink off and found the cooling plate was touching the motor leads. Also noticed the thermal transfer tape was only touching a few of the FET's. I sanded them down since they had some kind of epoxy over them and installed the cooling block using silicone based, heat transfer paste that I bought at Radio Shack. After that I bench tested it, it worked, and I applied "plastic dip" over it. It bound to my transmitter and took programming on first try. So far, so good.

I'm going to order some more since the t-180 in my Geico didn't want to work after taking 3 months off. Worked fine last time I used it. Today, I tried everything and could not get it to go full throtle. I'm done spending more than $50 for an ESC.

Saw that. They seem to be built the same. At that price I would go with the Keda but don't know how much difference it would be between the 4074 and XK 4082.

              I might still pick up a 1300 and a 2030 though.
