Not all boats and not all applications, I have a good spread of OR and IR motors through the fleet and there are some that may change soon too.

IMO if you have a good air volume like a mono or Cat then an OR can be tried and sometimes be successful.
In general riggers are not good homes to OR motors but it can be done

If you have found some well priced cans to go in there then do it. It is all about learning and having fun. !
I have found that the H3126 1600kv worked really well on 5s in my venom P1 and at $20 a motor they can't be beat

As a 450 size I assume they are 28mm dia ? what is the rotor length on the ORs that you run

        Yes diam 28mm length 36mm, Have used 3450kv,3600kv & 3800kv all on 3s. I have also ordered a 4400kv that is 28mm x 42mm long to use also on 3s 40c. All run on Octura metal x435.

On the H3126 1600kv my setup was 5s, 90a esc set to 15deg timing turning an x640 prop. It went really well.
