    New Big Boy Motor

I just received a new motor in the mail. I'm waiting on the performance specs.
Its the motor on the right. For reference I included a feigao xl on the left and kb45 in the middle. its 52mm in diameter and 28 ounces. The kv on the particular sample is 1200, but I can get a few different kv's. I will be testing it over the next several weeks.

That might be the one for the Rio, Steve.

Hmmmm.... Something in the either 850 or 1000 KV range??? Would this be a 1/8th scale candidate??

A budget 1/8 motor would be way cool.

            Steven,
            It's a 2 pole?

Its a 2 pole. I was a bit let down to hear this morning thats its only rated for 60 amps. Has a max of 50k rpm and 2.5kw.

I bet that motor would go great as a low cost motor for a 1/8th
Or just a fun motor for a large boat.
                  Thanks Steven.

lol, that's my feigao test motor. I change prop sizes to put different demands on the esc's I'm testing. The water jackets on there because it was the first sample I tested for leaks. For those of you who have never played with rc planes, you wouldn't believe how much thrust a 10xl motor on 12 cells will deliver. Its quite scary. My main fear is the prop coming off for some reason. This winter I want to build a lexan box to put the motor in while testing.

What kV's can you get? Any idea what the Rm and Io values are?

2.4kW is running 40V @ 60 amps. It may be a bit more capable than the numbers indicate.

Of course what you mean is figuring out a way to run it on 30S in an AquaCraft King's Ransom

I can just see it now!!! :D

I asked, but so far no response.
