Steven do you have an updated ETA for the cooling jackets for the 1520's and 1717's? Thanks.

I've just decided to run two of the air versions without a can and see how it plays out. Have two 40mm fans ready to install in front of them and use the OSE standard aluminum mounts. =)

        Problem solved. He he.

Fighter, forgot to tell ya that I got all of my motors yesterday. Even the 1520 from Castle showed. The cans are incorrectly etched. They read 1500kv instead of 1600. Castle put a apology sticker on the box. HAHA

for as cheap as they are, this could be a good way to go..
if the motor is getting to hot anyway, maybe things are proped up to much

Wow. They've got some issues over there! At least ya got em.

The little blower fan's are silly. 3 cfm I think? You can get a real fan that moves about 10cfm or more and just mount it next to the motor for less than $12. I have a couple of their little blower fans and I've replaced the internal fans with faster ones, but still limited to 5cfm with a 30mm fan. They use 30x30 fans and the mount can go up to 10mm deep.

Castle/Neu 1520-1y on OSE Leopard motor mounts with 1515 OSE jacket. Im not sure how everyone plans on mounting their 1520's but for my mount the 1515 jacket worked out perfectly. I think it covers enough of the motor to make me happy.

I machined of two of the last 3 fins on the back of the motor and the Leopard rear mounts fit perfectly. (They will not work with the carbon or glass sides of the leopard mounts though, the rear holes are too far from the front ones.)

Looks good! the 1515 cooler covers more of the can than I thought.

Keith, have you tested the jacket to see if it leaks?? This might be the best solution for the Castle 1520 motors. My purchase is pending on your test results!LOL

I havent yet. I could do a bench test but as far as real world testing it will be a little bit. These are going in a twin cat build I am doing and at this point I am still waiting for the hull to arrive.
There's no reason they should leak though...every dimension is the same on this motor (compared to 1515s) other than length.

I've used this can on the 1518 without issue. Like Keith said, the dimensions are exact, besides length. Waiting for my new hull that will be getting 2 1520's as well!
