Car esc's are typically sensored and boat esc's aren't.

I am guessing the throttle curve might be way different for a boat vs a car

Ok, i should have mentionned that i'm using a MambaMonster2 ESC. I made a custom cooling to it. The Esc is unsensored and fully programable. That being said, what would be the difference between the two throttle curves? Mine is linear right now. Is it ok?

They are the same it is usually just the programming. Linear is Linear. Turn off Braking and reverse.

I run a mm2 in my 26" cat. I still have the reverse operable as I sometimes do need to back up...if you hammer on it in reverse you will unwind the flex, so be careful. This esc is only 120 amps so you have to choose your setup wisely. It does have an overheat protection so that's a plus. I personally like a car type throttle curve anyway, I find it smoother. I milled the fins off mine and made a block for it. It works pretty well.

Thanks for the pics! I only dremeled some of the fines to insert aluminium tubes between them. Are the caps really necessary?
