    1. Yes
    2. Only if you supply power externally to the rx.
    Red=power

        I've never done it... but i know there are two ports on the program card. one is for use if using red wire, the other is for when when not using red wire.

            Yes, there are two ports, the other one is for you to supply a receiver pack to give juice for the programming.
            @Lonewolf, can you just pull the clip out and not cut it? Many people do that on 6s set ups. They run a separate receiver pack.

                If you have a small screw driver, depress the clip and gently pull it out. Any small enough pointed object will do the trick.

                  Why pull the red wire?
                  I run the BEC in all of my SK180's. 4s & 6s setups. Never a problem.
                  Unless it's a twin. Then it is advisable to remove the red wire on one of the ESC's
                  See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

                        just get yourself a y harness and save yourself a load of trouble programming at a later date.the red wire is cut on 1 of the y harness wires and if you wanted to run a battery pack you could just clip the other.but it would leave the wires on your esc's stock so that programming will be simple.otherwise you have to power the program card with the reciever battery pack.

                              I see your point now lonewolf. A 1/4 scale servo would certainly tax the bec in the T180. But here's a tip.
                              Pull the red wire in the Y harness at both the ESC plugs, not just at the RX plug.
                              Otherwise spurious voltages can backfeed from one ESC to the other & cause damage.
