Minimum required Mah for Limited Sport Hydro?

I was just curious what is the minimum required Mah for running a AQ 2030 motor in my PTSS Hydro? For racing ovals 6 laps plus mill, etc...

    I run a M440/3 blade or a D/T X442. Strut is approx. 3/4" deep or less.

I thought I saw Mike Ball or someone else run a pair of 2S 3700's in series at the 2014 nats. Is this enough?

I ask because I usually carry at least 6000Mah or recently 7600Mah but, I think it;s too heavy.

    Advice, suggestions please?

you shouldn't pull any more than 3000mah for the race. any more and the motor will go poof. I used to run a very light boat with only 4200 total. Some might say though that my voltage suffered and some want the extra weight to hold the boat to the water.

      Ray,

I think I ran a single 4s 5000 maybe even less in my Insane 30 at the MI Cup and Nats. I can check when I get home tonight unless someone replies before then...

You can get away with 4400 mah but those boats run so light you have to add weight to stay on the water. If your going to add weight you might as well add weight that pays you back with power.

Ty was sporting 8k at the CanAm. He could run twice with no charge.

Ray at the Can Am I was running 5200mah in my whip and would come back with 40 percent left.

I'm a 5000 guy also. I tried 4200's in my FE30 and they came in a little warm for my liking.

You see, I've got a pair of Mojo GP 65-130c packs from the cup but, they are only 4500mah. I don't want to hurt them by draining too low and I also want to keep the PTSS on the water.

                    I run a pair of 2S 6,600mAP 65-130C A-Spec's with a Custom 440/3

The A-Spec's are lighter and smaller then the Nano 5,000's

I run 2 4200mAh packs in parallel, not so much for the voltage or capacity but for the weight. I already have to run an air damn to keep the boat from blowing over.

That's enough battery Ray but like Tyler said, weight is your friend in the Thomas.
