    Doug.
Nothing official from our AMPBA that I've heard of.
I don't run mine at our club just so there's no hassles. 4.2V/cell is our limit. But if these cells were used the packs would need to be checked before each race by a committee member. That's a saga that our club, and myself, doesn't want to have. Mainly for the reasons Ron pointed out.
I'm running the Revolectrix Diamond series & they are a great battery.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I agree it may get a bit slippery, but we'll get through it.
You don't have to protest to get a racers batteries and charging equipment checked by a safety officer or contest official.
As Kevin stated a rule change is inevitably in our future to keep up with technology. The question is how long will it be till HV batteries are the new norm? And what's around the corner?

True. That's what the inspiration was for the per cell voltage limit in IMPBA and the recent proposal with NAMBA. Both orgs were aware of a some overcharging. Only about a dozen reasons that's a bad idea.

Getting the timing right on rule updates will take some careful thinking.

HYPERION G6 HV 99C MAX LIPOLY BATTERY PACK
It is sad to see Hyperion jumping on the overinflated C rate bandwagon.

Continous C-Rate for 100% rated capacity delivery is 1/2 C-Max rate.
But at least they admit it, and tell you what it actually is at the bottom of the blurb.

                "C" RATE PERFORMANCE

The G6 HvLi LiPo come in three C-Rate versions, 60Cmax, 80Cmax, and 99Cmax. Continous C-Rate for 100%+ delivered capacity is 1/2 C-Max rate. The 60Cmax series are appropriate for most models and deliver high capacity and power per gram at lowest cost. The 80Cmax series is for applications that need higher voltage under load, such as 3D airplanes, helicopters, and FPV quad racers. The 99Cmax packs provide extreme voltage-holding capability for applications like EDF jets or other very fast models, or extreme 3D helicopters. In testing competing bands, we often find their continuous C-ratings badly inflated. For example, in testing our Cmax99 (50C continuous rating), it well outperformed a popular other-brand pack which was rated at 65C.

                It is refreshing isn't it?

Doug, did you do the update on the Hyperian so you could get the voltage? I haven't messed with that yet. My Duo3 wont take me up there until I update the firmware.

Only one cycle in a boat on the 2s, and 2cycles on the 4s. Only note so far is I had to tighten up the P Mono.

We all may need a larger Hydro hull....and better driving skills (smoother)

Doug, What are the dimensions of your new 4S packs? Aren't they slightly smaller than the older Hyperions of same capacity.
