    Hyperion G6 HV

Been expecting these for awhile. Hopefully these prove to be what I was expecting when I purchased the disappointing "labels" last year.

I have some on order and will post my thoughts on them when they, and my Cheerleading outfit arrive.

    They're here!
I was happy to see that every one of the 12 cells were @ 3.848v upon arrival.

I'll get some connectors on them this week, and get them in boats next weekend.

      New firmware.

Like the G3s these cells don't require a break in procedure. I cycled them 3x on my EOS720I SD 3s anyway.
Looking forward to running some laps with them this weekend.

Cool technology, always improving. Look forward to hear what you think about them. Will you be charging them up to the 4.35? I'm sure there are a lot of chargers out there that cant go up that high too.

            Niza.

I know of at least 4 other manufacturers working on these. I have some 4.35's on a boat somewhere too.

              Doug,

Do you have any way of measuring the IR of the cells? Either through the charger or an ESR meter? I have tested another brands HV cells and saw 2x higher cell IR compared to the standard chemistry batteries.

                Joe,
I am bound by the IMPBA and NAMBA rules so I'll only be charging to 4.2v/cell. I'll play around with the higher voltage at the local pond.

                Tyler,
According to my Hyperion EOS720Is the IR is currently 1.9mo/cell, all 12 cells. I'll have to find my notes but IIRC I was seeing higher starting IR readings with the G3s. It wasn't unusual to see the IR fall to 0 after five or more cycles on those under heavier loads. I hope these are similar. I'll be keeping track of these pretty closely and post my findings here. The plan is to cycle them a couple of times in Limited set ups then, move them over into N & P monos.

They are legal in the IMPBA if not charged above 4.23 v/cell. How are you fellas handling them?

I think we are going down a very slippery slope with these batteries.....there are already good batteries that are being over charged etc and u know if someone can cheet...someone will and probably wont get caught....this has nothing to do with anyone on this fourm just saying!!!!!

Don't fight it man lol. It's probably only matter of time before the rules need to be updated to accommodate the new technology.
