14.8v lipo ?

I was wondering if my boat calls for a 14.8v 4s 30c 4000mah lipo. with motor bl3660 kv2400 motor and 100 amp esc. In a 26" hydro.
Do you think I could run a hotter battery without damaging motor and esc?
Would it be better to run 1 4s 30c 14.8 battery or 2 2s 7.4 batteries seriesl?

A "hotter" battery? Do you mean higher voltage i.e. 5S? Not recommend as it will probably damage the ESC. One pack or two depends on the room inside the hull. Pics might help..

I believe there recommended battery is the minimum battery that should be used

Sorry, I missed this the first time. If you run two 7.4 volt pack in parallel the boat will only go half speed. You need to wire them in series.
