The m445 will work fine for a one-mile oval heat race. Don't know about a 4 minute offshore heat.

You might JUST make it, maybe, be hard on the batteries running them down to pretty much LVC every run, I get 3:30 and put just shy of 4000mah back in my packs. Offshore I'd run a pair of 4s packs in parralal about 4000mah each. I don't like running my batts down to LVC. I might make 4 minutes but not with mill laps and start countdown...
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Make up an adapter using the kind of connectors you have on your battery and esc to allow you to plug both red battery leads into the plus side of the esc and the same for the negative.
Easier to describe if you tell what kind of connectors you have on everything.
I standardized everything to 5.5mm bullets, motor, batteries and escs also my charger, makes it easy to swap stuff between boats for testing or after something blows up.
The stock connectors are pretty much at their maximum, they can get really hot once you start pushing the boat harder. The esc rating is very conservative, I regularly put way more amperage through it than the company claims, thats when the stock connectors become the weak link.
