Affordable Lipos?

I've only been at this for a year now, and I don't own a Genesis but here's two cents from my perspective:
HK packs work just fine for sport running, and for the price you can afford to buy some extras.
If you decide to go 4S, you should get 5-10 minutes of sport running on 2- 2S 5000mAH packs in parallel...
The price of 2-4S packs are almost the same price as 4-2S packs and if a 2S pack dies you can still go play...not so with losing a 4S pack. (Also you can run the 2S pack in your Proboat Apache.)
You don't want to run your boat around at half throttle, it will heat up your ESC, and possibly overheat it.
If you want your boat to go slower, put a smaller prop on it. For that kV motor a 38-42mm prop should keep your speeds down.
The Carbon Graupner K-props are a great affordable prop starting out...

The bout will hardly move on two 2s 5000mah pack in parallel,
3s at the least voltage will get it going pretty good if it is setup and running aired out good.
And I have this boat and a few others to,
All of my boats I run fast or slow and have no problems with them over heating because of it.
The prop that would be very good for this hull and the 2074kv motor is a x442 S & B,
With a seaking 180amp esc and two 4s 40c 5000mah packs in parallel for a good balanced setup.
With good run times and power when you want it to air out.

You're soooo right Lenny!! Thanks....I intended Series for 4s total. I was helping my son with his homework while typing (excuses:)
I was recommending a smaller prop because he wanted lower speeds....this would make it possible on 4s.
As for fast/slow speeds, I too have yet to burn up an ESC because of it....but that's not what I've been reading over and over on this forum.
Thanks again for catching my mess-up!This is NOT a toy?!?Comment
