what battery would all of you recommend

hi all ,

i am new to this rc group and new to the world of rc boats , i am busy building a mystic c5000 43" boat from ply and balsa wood and then going to skin it with carbon fibre.
i have all the working parts for the boat.
but i am not to sure of a battery or batteries for the motors and esc's i will be running in this boat.

any help would be great fully appreciated , another question i have is would i plug both esc's into one receiver that i have.

You will be running 6S voltage, so what you have to decide is the capacity you need and the $$$ you want to pay. I would recommend no less than 45C/5000 mAh cells; either one pack for each motor, or to double run time hook two up to each motor in parallel, not series. You get what you pay for in batteries, the more you spend the fewer problems you will have. You don't need high-end packs for performance, but for reliability. Cheap packs don't last as long and you may have a cell go bad in a pack.

You can run both controllers from your receiver by plugging them into the two throttle ports, or by using a common Y harness.

thanks fluid , what would the voltage be on the battery 7.4 , 11.1 or 22.2 per battery

I swear by Hyperion lipos. Expensive, but I have over 20 packs, a bunch are 3 years old, and I have never had a problem with any of them.

I've had very good experience with www.rcdude.com as a vendor for those.

You're gonna want 4 of those . Also, the kv rating on those motors is rather low for a twin 6s cat.

The rpms will be in the 28k range, not shabby, he can possibly use some 6 series Octuras with some diameter to get some speed...................

Should not skimp on doctors, lawyers, accountants, tires, .... and lipos....

They are an investment, but over the life of the packs I think they work out just as inexpensive as multiple cheap packs.
Plus, even used they sell real fast if you need to change your config.
