    Wiring up 5.5mm Connections....need suggestions.

My shipment of wires and 5.5 connectors arrive tomorrow so I'm trying to get all of the brain work done so all I have to do is solder tomorrow. I have a Spartan and the ESC is wired stock for series with Traxxas connectors. I plan on running both series and parallel setups for 4/5/6s.

Here is what I need help with:
Should I run + and - from the ESC out about 3" and put connectors there? Then I could make S and P adaptors to plug in there and run out to the batteries. I'm trying to do this with as few connectors inline as possible.

    OR

Should I run + and - from the ESC out about 6". Then to run S, I would just have to use a jumper across between the packs and there would be 1 less connection. Of course the parallel adaptor would still be the same.

Also, on a side note. Is there a specific order that I should use to plug everything in? All of my experience so far has had + and - being connected simultaneously. Should I connect the packs to the adaptors first and then to the ESC or vice versa?

    Thanks for the help guys.

plugging everything into everything should be first, and then plugyour final connector with everything connected into your ESC, if you are running 4S+, you'll want a no spark connector.

      Hi,

You should only need a set of these,http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...llel-conectors

And go to OSE Tips/Info read on, http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/info.php

And this guy has alot of good info to, http://search.yahoo.com/r/_ylt=A0oG7...inguytech.com/

And another two good link for info.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9069147
Speed - Electric - Choosing an Appropriate Fast Electric Setup / NON-RTR - INTRO The biggest mistake a new FE boater can make when building their first boat is choosing a power combination that is not properly matched. In most cases this leads to excessive heat with in the system. Heat is electronics worst enemy, too

      Have fun.

Good stuff Lenny! I'm going to make those connectors instead of using the wires I soldered up last night. I mean they work, but they create a spiderweb of wires in there. Thanks also for the useful links. I need to study up.

Remember, the conventional wiring of bullet connects is ON THE BATTERY.... RED HOT FEMALE. That means the female goes on the + lead. Of course it will be the opposite on the esc so the connectors will mate up with the correct polarity.

pack the red hot female (and shrink it tight!)
control the speed of the red hot female with your male speedcontroller
(red hot female works well if you know it's for the pack.
