Hey Guys, Paul from Venom Here.

What are your specific issues with the Venom packs? We have tested our packs against the competition numerous times and have great success.

I'm not here to argue with anyone about re-branding, that is a fact of life for this industry. With the exception of one brand above, every lipo noted is a re-branded pack. Been to the factories and seen them roll off the same assembly lines.

We fully believe in our product and stand behind it. We offer a lifetime battery replacement plan on all of our packs.

We do re-brand some items, though we have been innovating brand new product designs of our own for 10 years.

We're willing to take the Pepsi challenge on this.

For Diesel, I will send you a set of batteries to try. Please post here, lets keep this out in the open. What do you need?

      This just got interesting....
I will gladly test out those batteries, I will use a eagle tree and get some video and gps speed to test them out. Two 2s 5000mah 40c-50c would be good. I have set a Turnigys rated the same. They have a few cycles on them but should be a good comparison. The eagle tree is going to be information getter. I have owned Venom Lipos before never eagle treed them though.

Paul I try to be honest and truthful and have spoken out about my concerns on Venom's re-branding before and I appreciate you stepping up into this conversation. Here's some of my concerns I guess you would say:
      http://www.venom-group.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=1398 vs. http://www.hobbyhot.com/hobbywing-se...r-pr-1670.html

That's a mighty big jump in price. I have also torn down the venom outrunners and noticed it was almost identical to my 3126 suppo outrunner with exception to the mounting surface which has been switched to use your clamp. I only paid $25 shipped for the suppo

Here's the Venom outrunner in the middle: http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...223_183059.jpg

      * Now I understand the esc and motor issues are far from the lipo talk this thread has started on, but I just wanted to get my experience/concerns out there about Venom. I know mostly every company re-brands and I understand money needs to be made, but certain price hikes (the esc) are difficult to swallow.

wanted to elaborate the 5400 30c lipo i puffed was in a stock fastech with stock prop so i find it hard to believe a 162 amp battery was ruined in a 50 amp boat it wasnt a total loss i pulled the bad cell and reconfigured the balance tap and went to a mamba 7700kv buggy where she lived out her days.

Lets see what these batteries can do diesel

Wow, Paul! Thats customer sevice R&D if I ever saw it. Kudos to you for stepping up to bat and getting to the bottom of this.

I too have heard much about Venom batteries not being able to handle the demands of FE boating. I do not own any venom batteries, but have been PMd several times about issues with boats cutting out etc and a lot, not all, but a lot of times, I do find they are running Venom batteries. And half or more of those are on Nimh, which it seems its getting no matter whos brand you have they cannot stand up to what we are puting them through.

I cannot speak for boats, as I am an airplane guy, but I know when testing our VMX 450 motorcycle, we found that NiMh batteries would cut out in the high instantaneous bursts we were seeing. This was checking with multiple sources for cells.

If we were smooth about our start up (there is a heavy flywheel to get spinning) and driving there were no issues, so we went with LiPO.

This goes the same with boats. They will see high instantaneous currents due to water being a much more dense fluid than air. Hence the need to go to LiPO over NiMh with today's higher power systems.

              All for now.
