    Venom Batteries

Starting to see more new guys coming in with boat issues, common link to some of the problems is Venom batts. Most of us that have been boating for a while know that Venom batteries either Nimh or lipo are terrible in boating applications and aren't strong enough to handle the amp load. I am just posting this for new guys or guys looking to jump into the hobby to inform them that there are better battery choices then venoms.

Here are some brands I have used with success:

    Tenergy
    Turnigy
    Zippy
    Blue Lipo

    Brands well known:

    Hyperion
    Thunderpower
    Gen Ace
    Flightpower

    * The brands listed have been proven to work in FE boating...a

I never liked companies that sell everything. They sell batteries, boats, chargers, temp sensors, cars, etc. Either they are a "wonder company" or they are just slapping their name on things. I'm not sure they really make anything? Companies that focus on what they specialize in always seem to produce better products but there are few exceptions. I agree their batteries are low quality and what was listed in the first post is 100% right. The Gen Ace batts are pretty hot now.

Yes but dont all companies do some sort of branding? like turnigy, their marine esc is the same as the seaking, a lot of their heli motors are the same as suppo and so on.

Not all of the Turnigy esc's are Seaking's just the Turnigy Marine Series ones. The Turnigy Aquastars are Hifei Swordfishes and the HK Boat SS are suppos.

Venom re-brands and charges extra on A LOT of stuff. The Boats are Dragon Hulls and there Marine pro series escs are seakings and double the price and there outrunners are suppos that they take the front plate off and use that clamp which limits there use.

True I know, but if it's a reliable product I don't mind but when it's garbage already and a company slaps their name on it and re-sell it it's such a scam to even bother selling but they will to make sales to make a profit as they purchased an X amount or are a "dealer". It's just business I know.

What people don't always know and need to look out for is what is re-badged and what is copied. I have seen some chargers that are a complete copy or a re-badge of another well known brand. People who don't know will get stuck buying the copy and any issues that go with it. If a re-branded of the original is good quality already, is nice and all but once again I rather purchase from the source if possible. I just prefer companies that specialize in what they do and sell and we need to keep aware what is the difference.
