Is 193 g/m² carbon fibre too thick/heavy? -it is the only thing I could find locally .

It is 59€/1 square meter thought! (ose has none in stock) ,but that should last for few boats.

I have used 5.7oz per sq yd cloth with good results so your cloth should be just about right

That is 6.8 oz per square yard. a square meter is 1.19599 square yards. So it is 5.68 oz per square yard. Perfect!

                    Yeyyy! Thanks guys!

I just talked to a friend, and he wants half of it, so the price is not that bad anymore.

50x100cm to both of us should last a while! -you only use one or two layers when strengthening hulls ,right?

And do you think it is best to use reguar epoxy or laminating epoxy? The same shop that carries that cloth has laminating epoxy that suites fiberglass, carbon fiber and kevlar.

That is cheaper then reg.epoxy so idk about the strenght.

just use one layer its a lot stronger than fibre glass you will notice how much stiffer the hull is once done

The laminating resin is what you want. The strength comes from the cloth, not the resin (epoxy).

I also took that laminating epoxy with me.

iam no expert with glassing and carbon fibre but i will tell you a few things i have found that may help. i brush on a layer of resin first then lay the cloth on top then brush resin over the top, well not so much brush but push the resin in to the cloth, on flat areas a small foam roller works very well, i usally put resin in the middle and work my way to the edges that way you dont end up with excess resin as you dont need to flood it, use thin disposable rubber gloves, these are really good when doing cats as you can use your fingers to help mold the cloth over the ridges etc, when i work out what size piece of cloth i need (usally a paper or cloth template) i spray a thin line were iam going to cut with hair spray to stop the edges fraying, this helps a reall lot just dont use to much other wise it becomes to stiff
                              hope this helps
