kinda makes me feel at home!!! that is an awsome boat. i liked it so much i built a mini mogli, it started a trend and now 3 of them run at our pond (out of 5 regulars) i built the micro mogli and folki at the same time and loved both of them.... 380 motors around 3000kv on 3 cells and they rip. just be sure to scrap the wood motor mount if you are not using the alum bell housing for the coupler.

i always thought that Tucan Sam would be a good paint job on that one....

I have a feeling the previous owner got rid of the boat cause he had it way overpowered. A 380 9s (4600kv) on 3s lipo... Way too much motor rpm. And running a x432 prop... I plan to run 2s2p lipo setup with some 2200mah cells I have. That should give me around 30mph, which is plenty for my tastes and a boat this size.

Toucan Sam would be a cool paint job, my wife took one look at the boat and said the front looks like a beak!!!

Paint some boats for you? Sure, as long as you pull the hardware off them and make sure they are clean inside and out...

I would like a lower kv motor for 3s, but will give the 9s a try and see how it does. Are you sure you used a 10s? Kv is higher than 3000 on all of the 10s motors I could find... Maybe a 10l? Or a 12-13s? Those have lower kv that would be more suitable for 3s lipo.

it may have been a 12s, it was right around 3000. in the folki i used a 3600 on 3s turnigy 28-45 watercooled and it was sweet on smooth water but too fast on a little chop. i was getting close to 38mph on a glass pond

3000kv does seem to be the perfect 3s motor for this boat. 38mph on a boat this size must have been interesting! I will be more than happy with 30mph, and i plant to get some of the ose plastic props to test with, the 28 and 30mm, just to see the difference. I think the 4600kv motor, 2s lipo and the x432 will work, but i want to be sure. I guess i will have to break out the radar gun, as I doubt they make a gps small enough to fit this hull!

Guys, I saw the boat in person yesterday and I must say, James did a pretty darn good job there. I'm sure he'll only get better with time and practice on the boats...

Automotive paint is definitely the way to go when wanting to paint a hull. Skip the spray bombs and do it right! This looks much more quality than any rattlecan job I've done. My whip has the same auto paint job and its just as good and HARD!
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

I have a mini mogli and had thought that Toucan Sam would be a cool paint job too...Linc, are you interested? I can't paint for crap, and really like what I've seen from you so far.
sounds like you're busy enough, but lemme know if that's something you'd consider and what would be reasonable compensation for such a job.

                      cheers,
                      -Corey
