Ok, so here is the 1st of my quasi custom paint jobs. I have a few hulls to paint, and figured i would start with this little guy. All painting was done with basf r&m automotive paint, and some off brand clear that a supplier gave me (gotta love free stuff!) Colors are whatever I have laying around the paint shop, I try to pick stuff that goes well... All sprayed with a sata mini jet, but i think i may need to break out the air brush for the more detailed stuff. The bamboo and tiki dudes were done with stencils, and the color breaks were done freehand with fineline tape. Must have about 6 coats of clear, so 3 times as much as your full size car outside does!!!
Only had one issue, the silver on the "windshield" peeled a little when I removed the tape, grrrr
I touched it up with a brush and it is not vissible at every angle. Oh well, it is a toy boat, right?!
Enough with the gabbing here are some pics.
