If you were to cut down the rails would the batteries bit in the sponsons?
If you removed the rails then 4S packs would fit in the sponsons, I don't know about 6S packs. Actually there is nothing wrong with putting the packs on the tunnel, this has worked well for most of the FE cats I've raced over the past 20 years. It also allows for maximum floatation volume in the sponsons.

I raced my SprintCat last weekend in a Q Open race against hydros and monos. Ended up in 2nd place out of 7 boats after five heats - with a DNF. I used a Neu 1527/1Y and 6S2P FlightPower 4500s with various props. Speeds in race water were in the high 50s/low 60s and handling was as you'd expect.

What are the best settings for you (strut, cog) and prop? You gained a few mph, how? Are you measuring bottom of strut from bottom of sponsons? Thanks.
It is always great when boat comes back without external help!

as you know I have the same setup for my SC as you have here....what runs times would you say with this setup? and as I only have prather props
230, 235, 240, 245 that are S&B...would you start with the 235 to get the same results you have here?......high 50's sounds great to learn how to drive

btw yes 6s will fit in the sponsons if you done have rails but they must be forces in under the lip of the deck (prying up the deck while you force them in)....ounce in there they are loose

Kevin, well done and I love the simple paint jobs on your hulls. They look great

I didn't change much, just a few things to gain a mph here and there
              - Wet sanded the bottom of sponsons with 400 grit sand paper
              - worked on the prop a bit (x450)
              - c.o.g. at 32%
              - lowered the strut and gave it more kick up
when the boat is sitting flat on a table the bottom of the strut is 3/8'' up and 2deg kick up at the prop end.
also the g3 cells do make a difference, i ran it with the old packs then brought it in to switch packs then ran it again and gained a few mph.

Thanks Dougie, the paint is only simple because thats all I'm capable of

The pitch ratios of the Prather props are different than the x400 props so they are not direct replacements. Try the 230 first. With my 6S setups I was using around 4000 mAh in 2 minutes of racing. That is WOT all the time, nothing like what most guys call sport running. Heat buildup will be the limiting factor rather than cell capacity.
