Awesome Alvin! Depending on your radio...you may not need the Pistix...definately will not hurt if you are unsure. I doubt I am missing out on any speed having one in mine!!! She ROCKS!!!
KEEP US UPDATED ON YOUR BUILD!! I'm still here if you need anything!!
Thanks Kent. I do need the pistix on the 3pm. Tonight I mounted the servo and hooked up everything. Then I disassembeld. I put a thin coat of epoxy on inner transom and motor mount. Tomorrow I will re mount motor and install top foam and ply, and however far I get.
SSSSLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW process, waiting for epoxy to dry. The boat looks so good with the epoxy, I am considering going 2 coats epoxy and 1 coat clear. What do ya'll think?
Do you have any pics? Clear would be cool...it would show off the nice wood tone that rigger has...just make sure that whatever clear coat you will be using will stick well to the epoxy!
Hey, have you seen Diego's stretched Renegade build thread? Looks pretty cool so far!!
Finally got the will to "Get-r-Done. Decided to go with 2 coats of epoxy, I was so happy with the results I left it like that. I can always paint it later if I get tired of the wood grain. NOT Anyway here are some pics. The only thing I am not comfortable with right now is the coupler. It does not fit well on the motor shaft. Correct me if I am wrong, the motor shaft is 1/8th inch? This coupler is too big and created a horribly vibration in the boat.
I highly recommend to get it with the motor.
Motor coupler I ordered is 1/8th to .130 and that is what the invoice says. Why it is so loose I don't know.
I ran the boat this morning but only for about 2 laps. It took on water. I think because I didn't have enough of the teflon tube in the strut. I will make an adjustment and add some heatshrink. I thought the grease would keep the water out but obvisouly I was wrong. The boat seemed to want to walk to the left under WOT, even with the rudder trimmed to the right. Is this normal? What have I done wrong if not?
Thanks for the complements,
Alvin
