I saw a small sail cat few years ago on the lake where I live, the thing had foils in the middle of the sponsons, as usual, but the rear was strange inverted T rudder/foil that was pretty innovative, the horizontal part was articulated at the bottom of the rudder so that changing its angle would change the immersion depth, this foil was linked via a rod to a bended bar, this bar would "scrub or slide" on the water surface, if the rear of the boat got closer to the water (and lifting the noze at the same time) this bar would rotate and pull on the rod increasing the T foil angle, creating more lift, this was a sort of self stabilization device! the depth or altitude could be changed by adjusting the length of the linkage rod.

yeah cool concept but is it really needed? can this device avoid flip? possibly yes, looking at the Hydroptere pictures of the first post, having an inverted T foil with the "self leveling device" on each sponson instead of having two "45° foil" could help keeping the thing "on rail", no possible or limited flip then!
