Just pulling your chain Jesse but I have to give you a A for effort , just out of curiousity we all have a dream of ultimate speed for a project , what is the mark on the Intruder . are you near

                  Thanks for the compliments, Peter.

The problem with the ultimate speed, as we have seen in each build is that it becomes the carrot on the stick. I usually see how fast I can possibly make a boat go (smoke or no) and then back off to 80% of that. Another problem with these GPSs is that you have actual numbers - good and bad.

To be honest, seeing that boat cruise at 55 this afternoon really made me giddy. I am definitely there with my speed on this boat. I just want to get her riding nice and dry for each set of packs.

The thing I like about these motors is that I have a range of speeds. 4S and mid thirties, good for rough water, letting somebody else drive (cringe) and possibly racing. 5S and mid forties, starts to get impressive and with a little chop looks really cool (the camel comercial)... Then for mega wow factor and giddiness... 6S and mid fifties, singer sewing machines (as Wholt puts it) and it is across the pond before you know it. Any faster than that means significant more cash, much bigger pond and for me it starts to become less because you are spending more time speeding up and slowing down for the turns than blistering down the straights.

I will be very content with mid fifties as the wow-factor speed for now. I imagine with a little bigger motors, I could hit 60 but I am not in a hurry.

For now it is just get some really good photos, video and have a blast driving it before the ice takes over the pond.
