I had wondered if it might have been a mixer in that 3.0 I got from you, but now that I found the problem, I don't think so. Great radio and 2 rxs super. No CF in my boats so it works great! no glitches.

there is a way to stop the servo at a determand point so that there is no undo pressure on the servo...rudder does not need to turn to its fullest...just 20 deg each way

its very easy to do on the tactic system...a rotory nob sets the end point where you want it...I forget how to do it on the spektrum

Jesse I own and have owned plenty of Traxxas vehicles and servo's are not their strong point. I hate to see you wipe out one of the baddest boats on this website cause of a dinky servo.
I would like to recommed the following.
Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.

I have used this servo to steer huge tires on rc monster trucks. On my FE tunnel hull, I could hold the motor and the boat would slide side to side.
        Good Luck,

          Jesse :

What was your motivation to put the motors in front of the batteries ?

Alvin, have that in other boats, might be swapping, thanks

Gerwin, motors have to be there or I can attain 33% COG. The hatch on this guy is so far back that it makes it difficult to get it balanced right - unless you have motors and batteries as far forward as possible. It may look like the motors are ahead, but they are actually right next to the batts.

This is another good choice and has a bit more torque ...

Great run Jesse. Do you have any neg angle in your struts? If not I would bring them down and try it. CG can always be handled with cells. Seems she wants to lift and grab air in the props.

                Man....6S will be the killer.

                How are the temps?

Temps were just warm to touch, so under 110 for everthing... even on 5S! Yes neg angle on struts, but added even more, will post pic at beginning of next vid. almost all the way down

Don't want to bind the drives, but I think I am still ok.

Heading to Ace now to get me the .078" wire to make a more direct rudder linkage. Then swap out a 3305 servo from another boat.

                  will post results this evening.

                    Jeff :
Jesse can't move the CG by moving the packs, they are stuck between the motor and the back of the hull.

1 pack weights much more than 1 motor, so I would have changed the position of both.

Jeff, that was 078.. so no worries.

Results... still bouncing. Rudder rules, I had a two inch z bend that was taking up all kind of slack, I removed that and threw in a straight segment and the 3305 Futaba servo - all kinds of difference - sorry no vid. Thanks guys for pointing out the "try to overpower it" test, pinpointed the problem.

As for strut angle. On a build, I tend to ride the line between too well thought out plans that take for ever to come to action and too quick of action that requires modification afterward. This occurred with stuffing tubes that were about 1/8" difference when glued (one deeper into the strut than the other that impeded dropping the angle to the level that is needed (I hope!!). I trimmed off this excess and remounted the struts and now I have full down angle.

Have to try again later, now its family time.

thanks again for all your encouragement and ideas, what a great forum!!!

Sorry, I was responding about Todd. I have a 62 and bearing strut going to him on MOnday for his hydro and then he says 5S...yikes.
