Thanks guys, yes she is a sweet princess for sure and she sings a pretty tune. I'd call the maiden voyage quite a success!"Look good doin' it"

Man that sounds awesome...
QUOTE=Jesse J;106517]Thanks Chuck, why not, would make a good alternate set.
I just ran her and on 4S we got 33 on the GPS. Dropped a pair of 5S in and up to 45mph. She was bouncin pretty bad and I think something came loose on one of the drives so had to bring her back to the shop for the post maiden voyage exam.
As with any twin, one side definitely turns easier than the other. Will get the vids up soon.

Jesse, drop me an e-mail so I can understand what happened. We may need to do a different fix.Comment

OK, well upon Jeff's advice, I removed the wire from the stub and resoldered. Tested with two vise grips and I think she is solid.
The good thing about this is the 1" of wire that goes into the stub and the solder which pretty much prevented losing the stub/drivedog/prop/propnut and a bunch of bad words. I will need to disassemble the strut to make sure there wasn't anything causing the stub to bind, but I doubt it. She was pretty dang smoooooooooooooooth.
Hoping to retest soon. Camel? you got your professional camera handy?"Look good doin' it"

I test them with a hard twist as well on anything soldered. These were silver soldered.
Some seem to stick like hell as I twisted a test wire around twice and never failed. Seems like either they stick well or not well at all.
Think I will stay with the Loctite compound on these big drives.
Keep it ripping...if it fails and you lose them be assured I will replace them for you at N/C.Comment

Looking good!! Where are the 2 6s Flightpower packs I sold you?? They should make that baby fly!!Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!Comment

I gotta work off the jitters that 5S give me. 6S is for whence I have finished the shakedown and enter into the "lets see what she's got" phase. I am thinking she will be slightly quick. If she did 45 mph with wrong strut angle and while blowing a stub... we shall see what 6S will inspire. I am not so interested in the numbers just the handling and fun factor. I will try to get a good sound recording of her too.
I did a test before heading into the office (bad idea - can't concentrate) and she is back to her twin howl....... "rrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnn nn mmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" (in stereo of course)."Look good doin' it"

A'ight, got her buttoned back up and wet again. Bad news, the pond is dinky. Good news, it takes 3 minutes to walk to it from the garage. Anyway, she looks good, might be a touch tail heavy - or not enough strut down angle. It is cool to see it on slightly choppy water, need some real chop and Rich's 6S for a real spectacle! Now I just need to learn how to drive...
