thanks rick: when i can build one as nice as your cat i will be happy
this is the boat i built instead of finishing the twin cat,as it cost me about the same to build as it would have done to finish the cat
wanted somthing that handled nice that i could take up to brisbane and race now and then

bit of a up date gave it its first run today with the detounged x440/3
ran it for 45-60 seconds was about to bring it in when the flex came out off the coupler.
got it back in in about 30 seconds, motor esc, batts were only just warming up
put it back in for a video run but esc got a drop of water and let the magic smoke out.
trim tabs were neutral so was stinger c.o.g was 30%
ran really nice will move c.o.g up to 31% as was just a little loose speed geuss would be low to mid 40s, corners like its on rails

            That was the Himodel 200A?

This ESC is really problematic. I have lost 3 until now and one is still alive (watercool and waterproof).

yea thats the 3rd one i have killed and it was brand new
was conformal coated and the ends sealed but some how got a drop of water in it.having 3 boards makes it hard to water proof properly
will be acouple of weeks till i get another esc going to try somthing diffrent this time might try the 120amp turnagy

you have me thinking now of a removable servo tray
will start off with a detounged x440 and go from there i think the
                x440/3 maybe close as well.
HIMALAYA that looks sweet can you tell me your motor, esc, batt setup
can you also tell me your c.o.g please
                thanks scott
I was trying to use the existing airplane ESC in my boat, shamefully ended with a puff of magic smoke..... No I switched to HobbyWing SeaKing180A, an awesome watercooled ESC for boat.

COG is exactly 30%, runs very well and can be easily adjusted by battery positioning.

                My current setup:
                ESC: HobbyWing SeaKing180A
                Motor: Medusa 3680 1600KV
                Battery: 6S 25C 2600mAh *2 in parallel

I'm not sure about mph, but it's as quick as any 4S mono I have raced against. I only run a detongued 442, and the hull really likes it. I tried a detongued 642 ages ago, and it ran too wet. But I was in a hurry and didn't tune the boat to suit.

More recently I tried an M445, and it may have been a touch faster, but didn't handle the corners as well. So I've gone back to my trusty DT 442.
