put everything in the hull last night and taped the the rudder/stinger on to see were my c.o.g is
the most i could get it back is 30.5% thats with the front of the motor 4 1/2" from the transom hope this will be okay as i dont want to move the motor back any further
from what i have read most df33s run between 30-32%

I run a DF29.5 on a very similar setup. In my opinion I would go 11XL/12XL and 5S for that hull for sport useage. or the big boy Feaigo and S ???

I can't remember where my DF33 balances, but the motor is about 4" from the transom. It's enough room to work on anything you need.

However, have you considered putting the motor up front, and the cells either side if the stuffing tube behind the motor? Might give you more adjustment.

douggie: i would have gone lower kv 5-6s but if i go racing they have a 4s limit
if i dont get what i want from this setup will look at the 580s or maybe a nue 1521
scott t: if yours is around 4" inches and you have enough room i should be okay then, the only couple of cyberstorm builds i have been able to find run there c.o.g at 32%
with this setup iam looking for around 45-50mph 2min run time looking for handling over speed

Nice, don't forget the transom if not reinforced already.

transom has a doubler, from the feel of it the transom is about 5mm thick,
i must say iam impressed with this hull, fantastic gel coat and the lines on the buisness side are very straight and sharp.
only thing disapointing on the hull was the front has some gel coat that broke of, not a big deal to fix
on saying that when i recieved it from steve it was bubble wrapped, it had extra on the front and then had foam all around so wasnt a packaging problem plus only 4 and a half days shipped to australia

Mine is set up to balance between 9.75" and 10.75" from the transom (outside, not inside of transom). Motor is just over 4" from transom (outside). I have the servo and receiver mounted on a removable shelf behind the motor, all quite user friendly.

I could actually move my motor forward about an inch I reckon, because my cells are a fair way forward to get the right balance. But that's only with 5,000 mAh on board, so my cells will be lighter than your 7,400 mAh. Motor is a 1515, which is also a little heavier than your 9XL.

I also think an X442 would be a good prop to start with, but your X440/3 is another good option.

                        Cheers,
                        Scott

DF Cyber Storm is one of my favorite boats. Mineperforms very well.
I was advise to start from smaller props like the X438, I did but found it's slow to get on plane. A X442 is a good balance between top speed and time to plane. I also tried the X637, it provides a bit more top speed than the X438 but make turns harder, the motor have to work hard to get out of turns and speed up. Monos are not for top speed but for turns and ruff water riding.

SCOTT T i think i will mount the motor 4 1/2" from out side of transom.
you have me thinking now of a removable servo tray
will start off with a detounged x440 and go from there i think the
                            x440/3 maybe close as well.
HIMALAYA that looks sweet can you tell me your motor, esc, batt setup
can you also tell me your c.o.g please
                            thanks scott
